I don’t remember how I came across this book, but once I started reading it, I only put it down when I finished. It is a very good book that is based on the 12 years that the author spent as a reporter in the Tokyo Metropolitan Press club, the only American ever to be admitted into the club. In it he covers topics relating to extortion, murder, human trafficking, fiscal corruption, and the yakuza. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction books, but this one was a very entertaining one and it is a relatively small book that is only 328 pages, so it is a quick, but very entertaining read. I highly recommend it as a read if you want to learn more about the unseen side of Japan and to learn more about this country and just to read some interesting stories.
